Successful Grant Bid for Crimdon Coastal Hub
Easington MP Grahame Morris has congratulated Durham Heritage Coast Partnership on their successful funding bid for the Crimdon Coastal hub.
Durham Heritage Coast Partnership secured a grant of £1.3 million towards a new Crimdon Coastal visitor and events hub. The £2.2 million scheme will act as a coastal volunteer, health, educations and information hub for the Durham Heritage Coast.
Following the announcement, Grahame Morris MP said:
“I am delighted to support this project and all schemes that help to promote culture and tourism on the historic East Durham heritage coast.
The awarding of such a substantial grant is a considerable achievement and congratulations should go to Niall Benson, Heritage Coast Officer and all the team at the Durham Heritage Coast whose hard work and effort secured this funding.
The East Durham coastline continues to be transformed, no longer scarred by industrial spoil, it is a unique asset to our region, which I hope more people will visit and enjoy. The new facilities at Crimdon will be vital to enhancing our leisure and tourism offer to visitors.”
