Grahame Morris highlights help that poverty charity is offering
Grahame Morris, the MP for Easington is encouraging organisations to take part in free training that poverty charity Turn2us is offering. The training is on its Benefits Calculator and Grants Search tools that are based on the Turn2us website – Turn2us.org.uk. The training will teach how to use these online tools and how to access other resources so that they can effectively help people maximise their income.
Turn2us is offering the opportunity for organisations in Durham to have free in-house training. The training is part of a project that is funded by Comic Relief which is aimed providing workshops for, and sharing its tools with, charities and community groups in the North East of England.
Urging organisations to avail of this opportunity, Grahame, said: “This is a great opportunity for organisations that work with people in financial need learn how to use the Turn2us tools to identify what support people are entitled to and eligible for. These tools were used by thousands of people in Durham last year but there are many more who could benefit from them, particularly those who would require some assistance in using them.”
Emphasising the importance of people in financial need receiving the help that they may be entitled to, Simon Hopkins, Chief Executive of Turn2us, said: “There is a range of help that people can be eligible for, particularly if they are struggling financially. It is very important that people check what they are entitled to as it could make a significant difference to their life.”
Organisations interested in the training can contact Ross Craig, Engagement Manager at Turn2us at firstname.lastname@example.org
